Default Noisy Fuel Pump

'01 Ultra Classic - the fuel pump whines loudly, especially with a full tank. Pitch of the whine alternates when idling or accelerating. Any ideas?

Probably the pump crapping out, how many miles? They're pricey, around $400 list price, Newcastle has them for $287. Good luck.

Unless I'm mistaking about something, pump is only about 160 bucks, full price.

26,000 miles. Noticed it after a fuel filter replacement, it got worse after I replaced the fuel pressure regulator.

My '11 Limited's fuel pump has always made noise and it's definitely more prominent when the tank is full. I don't worry about it anymore, it's been doing it for two years and 33,000 miles. If and when it takes a ****, then I'll worry about it.

That's kinda my attitude however I don't relish the though of the "if and when" happening 400 miles from home on the road. That's my kind of luck

My '00 still works fine at 117,000 miles.

I did look around on EBay one day though and found an outfit that sells various fuel pumps for different applications. One was for my bike, supposedly plug and play, for $79.95

Don't know if they're still there or not.
