Default Amplifier issue

Okay, so this past July I replaced the stock Harley stereo in my 07 Road glide and put in a Sony Marine Radio that uses my Ipod (sits behind face plate), the biketronic module to continue using controls, Titan 6.5 speakers up front and polk audio marine speakers in back and a Rockford Fosgate Punch amplifier. It worked great on the long trip I took (2k each direction). However, on my daily commute, the amp will cut out after about 20 minutes when I slow to idle. As long as I keep the RPMs up, it usually is fine. Or if I take longer trips. The stereo is still playing, the controls still work, so it has to be the amp. I installed a new battery and it didn't help.

Someone suggested a capacitor, but I can't imagine trying to find a place to put one of those. Any ideas?

Junk RF amp i would guess unless those titan speakers are 2 ohm instead of 4 ohm. then i would say that your heating her up to much. but my guess for why it works at first and shuts off is due to heat anyways

Nope...everything is 4 ohm.....I'm wondering if the RF amp just draws too much and I should check the stator? If it is drawing too much, any suggestions on a reasonable amp that might draw less?

Could it be the voltage regulator? or Maybe a bad ground or other connection. Sounds like you have to keep the RPMs up which keeps the voltage output at top level. If you let off the throttle does the voltage drop way down? Check your wires for kinks and breaks and clean your connections, especially the ground, make sure it is connected to clean metal, not paint or corrosion

Only going by my experience, but I have two RF amps and both work fine for 6 months now. Before that I had a Hawg wired 6 pack system and blew up 2 amps. Hawg replaced them but they blew within a week. I also blew up 2 crossovers. Completely blew out the capacitor. Not sure why and they didnt know either.

Voltage is fine...stays around 14 all the time. I guess it could be a connection, but based on when it does it, I don't think that is it.

Ground it to the frame or battery, Not the forks/triple-tree.
