Default Spark plugs

I have always had Shovelheads in the past and Harley Plugs would foul pretty easy. I found that Autolites and NGK worked best. Now I have a 2008 Electra Glide, it now has HD plugs in it and it runs good. I talked to a NGK rep at a Harley dealer and he recommended NGK DCPR7EIX for my bike saying it will start better when it's cold out with other benefits.Just wondering what spark plugs all of you are using.

Stock plugs in mine so far.

On my old Road Glide I tried stock,SE Platinum and NGK Iridium's.Could not tell any difference except the cost of the other two.

I've got NGK's in my bike and not so happy with the plug overall, my bike seems to idle and run smoother with the Autolites but thats just my .02

I'm running the NGK DCPR9EIX. It's two heat ranges cooler than the DCPR7EIX. The DCPR7EIX is a direct replacement for the H-D 6R12 plug. I've been running the 9EIX for almost two years now with no issues what so ever.

I put in iridiums yesterday, have ran them with good results on other bikes in the past, I recommend gapping them for best performance, just be carful to not touch the electrode while doing so.

I use the H-D double platinum tipped plugs, mainly because they will last longer than standard plugs. Starts and runs fine with them too. Use the originals as spares to keep in your tool kit in case you get a fouled or wet plug.

Of course the NGK rep is going to tell you their plugs are better, if not he should be fired haha! Fancy spark plugs don't work any better, they just last a little longer And I could see using them if they were a pain in the *** to change but even someone who's not mechanically inclined could swap them out on a Harley in less than 10 minutes. I've always used OEM spark plugs in all my vehicles, even my lawn mower.

It's overkill but I change mine at every oil change - 5K or 2.5K on the shovel. Usually use the champion equivalent but will use H-D or NGK.
