I recently purchased this bike that had a 12" windvest. It was okay but I was looking for something better. I found Clark's Custom Windshield, went to there shop and got measured. Since I was at the shop, I was able to try some different typeS of shields that they make. I decided on the 12" Flat Top in a bronze tint. For all of you bagger guys that still have not found that shield that you like I would HIGHLY recommend Clark's Custom Shield. They can cut any height shield that you need. I have one of their smoked ones and was thinking of getting a taller one in the bronze. The smoked is a little too dark for me when hunkered down behind it in the rain.
I have one I use during the cold months. I like the extra width, helps keep the wind off my hands. It makes a noticeable difference. My last one is broke, I'm debating using it as a pattern and cutting my own or just ordering another. The price is right, not much more expensive than buying the materials myself, so I'll probably just order another. The only draw back is I wish they had the flip at the top.

I went to their shop and was able to try several different windshields. I tried a dark tint and was afraid that at night it would be to dark. I may order a shorter one in the dark tint, but the shield would be for around town. I really enjoy the flat top for traveling.

Clark's Custom shields WORK because they do not have the flip. Their shield stands more upright and allows the shield to work instead of looking like the current fad. Just look at how many of the "flip" shields are for sale. I have a 12" windvest if you are interested.
Not trying to hyjack the thread but I tried out a 10" wind splitter at the HD dealer the other day. A lot of distortion if you look right down in front of you but the shield makes a huge difference with the turbulence behind the batwing.
I have a 14" flat top on my batwing. I'm allergic to bees so need all the protection I can get. Does the best of all I've tried. Have a short klock if anyone wants it.

Actually, they are at the same angle as the fairing, they have no bend in the bottom either, the same as most windshields. They work because they cover more area. A flip at the top would improve things. I've tried many shields, for me, a regular type shield with a flip is the best. I think all the fancy ones are crap.
