I have a '99 ultra classic that I would like to be able to take off my trunk and just go for a sissy bar, so if Im not going anywhere long I can still throw my wife or my daughter on the back and go cruise. Im not having much luck with finding any info though. I went to my local HD dealer here in SLC and they quoted me $612 for a bunch of misc parts, quick release parts so the trunk or the sissy bar will come off easy. HD said that was my only option?
But $612 is a little steap for a sissy bar in my oppinion. Do any of you guys have any other maybe more affordable options, parts, places or mods that I might be able to consider? Thanks guys in advance for any help.
The easiest way is the HD route, but E-Bay is your friend when it comes to parts. We are going to be doing the same thing to a friends Ultra after he saw my Standard with a low pro seat....
Ive got a quick release back rest in the classified section, complete except for docking hardware. Its from an 03 Ultra and not sure if it would fit your bike but if so it will save you a few hundred easily.
