Thanks for the video link. Doesn't look like that hard of a job like some have said. Looks like it will take about 15 minutes tops to swap out the bars.
Keeper, I've done two of these, I'm not sure why you would think it would take 15 minutes tops to swap bars on a Glide. It will take you a lot longer than that just to do the wires. You would be much better figuring on takin the better part of a day to do it if all goes well.

the 2 biggest factors in how hard the bar swap are which bars you are swapping and whether or not you are doing internal wiring....
a swap with Internal wiring IS NOT gonna take 15 minutes...
also if you are going with bars that are any more then 3-4" over stock you are gonna have to change brake and clutch lines....
p.s. that video on this thread shows a cool litttle trick of tipping the inner faring forward to get to the bar clamp... well they fail to mention that you have to pull off your blinkers to do that.... its not THAT MUCH more work but its not as lickity-split as they make it seem...but it is a cool idea and works well

I was joking, should of put in a smiley. I know it will take longer, but that was the length of the video.
Yea that smiley face would have helped. I was thinkin OMG wait til he starts that job!! My two took a bit longer than usual since I swapped out the inner fairing at the same time. Just put Heritage style longer bars on my Road King, what a piece of cake compared to the 12.5 mini apes on the street glides. Those Molex electrical connectors etc that Harley uses can be tempremental as hell. They say you can use a paperclip to punch them out but I ended up buying the Snap on tool for them. For those running the wires thru the bars, I would suggest cutting off the loose Harley wire loom and using a tight shrink wrap. I also found that warming the vinyl wrapped wires with a hair dryer makes them more pliable and easier to bend thru the bars.

You don't have to take them all the way off. Take the bolt out of the botton and loosen the one at the top until it is almost out. That is how I did mine.
