Default Increased Heat

Over the past month or so i have noticed a definite increase in heat coming from the right side of the engine (left seems normal / OK).

Because the left side of cylinders seems normal, im working on the assumption that the increased heat is coming from the exhaust. If its the exhaust, what would change that would cause an increase in heat from it?

I have a 2012, 103, 2 into 1, SE air intake and had it dyno'd earlier this year.

thanks

Still have the cat in the header pipe? That should be the first to go. You will notice a huge improvement.

I agree: Remove the Catalytic converter or get a new/modified head pipe.

With time and after a bike is "tuned", which usually "richens" the fuel mixture, the catalyst may not "flow" as well as when new and can cause an increase in heat. It's not uncommon for the catalyst (which of course is located under your right foot) to reach temperatures as high as 700 degrees. Kind of like riding on your barbeque grill, only Hotter!

That sounds like an exhaust leak, maybe re torque the header nuts.

2nd that. Since nothing has changed look for an exhaust leak of some sort.

Maybe check the tightness of the bolt where the muffler bolts on too.
