Default Plugging Tourpak Luggage Rack Holes

Anyone come up with a way to plug the holes after removing the luggage rack on the Tourpak? I've only used the rack once and would prefer to remove it when I don't need it. The acorn style nuts on the inside are just long enough to scratch a helmet. I saw a set of plugs on ebay but there was not much info.

I dont have a rack on my tourpak but I am sure a trip to Lowes or Home Depot would take care of it. They have black automotive plugs in different sizes that I am sure would work. Might not look fantastic but it would do the trick for you.

I saw them at Home Depot last night in hardware by the bolts and screws. Be familiar with what size you need.
Not that you need them, but they even have different size corks right beside them!
The drawers are marked, just head to hardware and you w
ill see what you need.

I covered the bolt heads on the inside with those felt circles you use inside cabinet doors. Prevents scratching my helmets. Just saying in case you change your mind.

With the rack off I found the black plastic rubber plugs at the local Hardware Hank, .30 cents apiece.
The studs that are on the rack are just long set screws, screw'em out and just replace with some round head bolts with plastic washers on.

That would be nice if I wanted to permanently remove my luggage rack but I want to be able to throw it back on for long trips. I'll have to check out removing the bolts/set screws and replacing with something less intrusive. I like the felt idea too.

Rubber blanking plugs or grommets. I see them in bubble packs over here in most auto part stores.
