I see a lot of people are using the RF amps for the bikes, some one mentioned today at a local store about an Alpine KTP-445U they told me much cleaner and better than the RF, I am not a audio expert. has anyone tried both of these or have any input. I am also looking at the JL Audio C2 Speaker.
The Alpine is 45 watts @ 1% distortion. RF 75 watts @ .5% distortion. So the specs are better on the RF PBR300x4. While ya aren't gonna hear 1%, especially on a bike; The power Ya will hear. But the alpine is stable @ 2ohms while the RF isn't. I just blew one of my JL C2 speakers in the fairing. Looking at Infinity SPR-60?

Look,at Arc Audio, they have 125.2 mini amp that has a lot of great reviews.
These are a good option, IMO. I've used the Elf E2125X for over a year and it has been a great bang for the buck. These amps are the same design, made in the same factory, and the Elf even has "Arc 125.2" stamped on the main board. You can find these on Ebay for <$200 (search on ElfAudio). The Arc and Elf have the same specs at 125w x 2 @ 2Ω and 75w x 2 @ 4Ω. I have two Hertz 6½" 3Ω speakers wired in parallel with Hogtunes Tweeter Pods (6Ω) for a final output of 2Ω. This setup maximizes the amp's power capability and works very well without breaking the bank.
I also agree with Oldhippie that minor variances in distortion are irrelevant on a bike. My ears aren't that great, but I doubt if anyone would hear the difference between .1 and 1% distortion on a bike while riding.
Here is the deal with amps and it all depends on what you want out of your stereo system. The ones designed specifically for touring models are going to increase the "volume" but add no real tuning capabilities. There are amps out there (rockford fosgate, orion) that are meant for cages but will fit in the fairing or saddlebags the offer both volume increase and tuning. I personally run orions in my bike but the system and bike are show quality, yet can still hear clearly running 80MPH. My brother in law runs the rockford fosgate in his and loves them. Also we are both running non stock stereo systems and speakers. again it is all what you want quality vs loudness.
