? bout engine temp paramiters in the Power Vision tuner ..
I am setting up paramiters in my Power Vision and what is a good engine temp range and high limit alarm to set for the 103 motor with new exhuast and air filter?
The tuner has factory heat settings that are just fine, what part are you needing input on? Did it come with a pre-installed map or are you doing everything on a clean slate? Personally I would download a map from their website then adjust it to your own liking.
I have the map loaded man, Just need a range to set up in the power vision on temps and a high limit alarm, this thing will display it on the screen so you can monitor it, just have to put in the ranges.... so my ? is would 0 to 300 be a good range and high temp alarm of 250 or so?

What year is the bike?
I have a 12' FLHTK. I don't care what you do to my bike or how lean or rich I run it, it still runs HOT during the warmer months! My 12' 103" with full stage one runs @ 260f on the highway give or take 10f depending on the weather and speed.
But once I get caught in traffic? temps shoot up past 300 in just a few minutes! I have my PV limit set at 325f, this is the point where I find an exit or pull off to the shoulder to let the motor cool down some and have a smoke.
I do not see temps that high unless I am in stop and go traffic for more than 20 minutes. My average commute home on the interstate is in traffic flowing about 15 to 30 mph. It is only a 15 mile ride but by the time I get to my exit, I am usually right around the 300f mark during our 100f summer months here.
These engines are capable of running at temps that high and even higher than that but I do not like to run it that hot, i shut it down when I see close to 325f.
Thanks guy's that's what I was looking for, I will set range to 325 and high limit at 280 or so till I figure out where I will be, I do not comute in traffic I mainly ride open road....

I have used the default values with no problems.
Low Limit - 3
High Limit - 464
No Warnings.
Engine Temp is one things I monitor; and, just having the digital readout is good for me. If you have a value in the L & H Warning I would think that the only thing that it will do is change the coloroftheenginetemp being displayed. Isn't all that you are doing is changing the gauge properties?

I am still learning the features of this power vision, whole lot you can do with this thing, I also look at gear position, Volts, gas milage... It's unbeleivable what you can do with this thing...
