My motor is down getting rebuilt. So while it is down, I am gonna do something with the chrome parts..rocker boxes..etc. I originally wanted to scotch-brite everything..but when I started yesterday, I did too much and went down to the copper on one of the rocker box covers. So I am looking for some other ideas and maybe some pics of what you guys have done. I have thought about getting them plated a dull nickel, powder coated gloss black, or powder coated a color that will mimic the dull nickel. So here are a couple of pics of the bike for reference..thanks in advance..
If it was me, id go with the black, probably a flat since the whole bike is blacked out already. I assume your doing all the covers? Primary, both tranny covers, cam cover, and rocker covers. Id black the whole damn thing out, your very close.
And if it was me, (not to nitpick, the bike is killer) Id yank the front rotors off, and have the centers done black as well to match the spokes of your front wheel. Might as well throw em in if your taking a bunch of stuff in for coating.
I think black would be the way I'd go. I wish I had gone black on my blond motor when it was down. I'm not liking the Alum covers so much with blacked bike?
