Default Starter Clutch gone

I own a FLHTK 2011. Bought it June 2011. I just got my bike back from the Harley dealership with a new starter clutch after only 1 year and 12000k of driving.

After only 6000k I had to have the lifters replaced because they were soooo loud for the first 5 minutes of running. That was last winter.

Is it just me? Has any one else had a starter stop working in the first year of ownership?

What parts have you had go on your bike in the first year under warantee? What other parts might I expect to crap out on me?

Got my bike August, 2011. So far, the only thing that I've had to do under warranty was;

1: replaced rocker cover gasket that was weeping. Around the 1,200 mile mark.
2: replaced missing transmission bolt (one of the bottom bolts that holds the exhaust bracket). Around 13,000 mile mark.
3: replaced sissy bar pad (stripped mounting bolts). Around the 16,500 mile mark.
4: replaced rear tire that had a huge nail in it. Have tire coverage with ESP. Around 17,000 mile mark.
5: replaced hi/low beam switch. Around the 19,000 mile mark.

Glad I have four more years of warranty coverage.

Bought my '09 new in 2010, I'm on my third start clutch and it's starting to act up. Second one was under warrantee, last one was on my dime. Just replaced the battery and that seems to be helping a bit as the starter system needs all the juice it can get but once they are going down hill its just a matter of time. Why Harley can't use quality parts and solid engineering is beyond me.

Unfortunately you guys are the minority... most of us have trouble free miles except small things. I know that does not help when it happens to you, but when a company cranks out 100,000+ bikes a year, there will be problems with a small percentage.

You can count on having to replace the compensator at some point..
