Default screen mounted GPS

Hi All,
I was wondering if any of you have a GPs or phone etc mounted off the screen OR off the bolts that secure the screen ?

I have tried handlebar mounted systems but wanted something directly in front of me whilst riding....

Thanks for any help given.
Regards,
Rowle - UK. (2012 Ultra).

I bought a windshield mount for a radar detector which I attached to a 2010 Kawasaki Concours. 2 small holes had to be drilled for the mount and the detector was suspended in a velcro sling. The Kawasaki had a moveable windshield, so the power wire had to be able to move with it. It never gave me any trouble. I used Escort radar detector's suction cup mount the other day on my 2012 flhtk and it made 2 little marks on the windshield, but never shook off the windshield. I think the name of the place I bought the mount from was called "Legal Speeding". The main thing I bought from them was a bluetooth thingy that attached to a helmet and flashed a red light in my peripheral vision when the radar detector went off. It really works well.
Good Luck

I use one of the eBay mounts that secures to the center windshield mount and then uses two sided tape to secure to the top of the inner fairing. It works perfect! I'll post some pics later but it put my 660 right in the perfect spot for viewing and it works with all my windshields.

I wouldn't trust my GPS to suction cup or tape on a motorcycle. Just this weekend I finished field-testing a product exactly like what you mention, that attaches to a bolt on the windshield! We don't have "public" info on it yet as we work through production and pricing but the goal will be to have it ready for the holiday season. Details will be here probably within a couple weeks: http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/motorcycle-gps-mounts/

I have and like the Harley handlebar mount kit. Brings the GPS nice and close to my aging eyes.

I did a mount for a friend on an Eglide Classic. I used his suction cup mount but drilled and tapped a hole throught the center of the cup. I mounted it through a counter-sunk hole then covered the screw head with a metal Harley emblem. The emblem had to be gently curved to match the windshield. It's a real neat installation but he's stuck with that unit unless he replaces his windshield. Still, it's in use 5 years late.

You take your eyes off the road less with this mount than you do looking at the speedo or fuel gauge!
