Default Windshield trim

I have a 20" windshield that i would like to cut down to 18". Can I do it with my handy-dandy garage electric hand saw? Just so happens my eye vision is in par with the top of the windshield. Either i lower forward or sit up straight. Not comfortable at all, no good.

I cut my electraglide windscreens all the time, I use a rotozip- some guys use a coping or jigsaw.

cutting slowly is a good idea, don't let the material get hot.

the top tip there is we usually cut the bottom edge as that is hidden by the fairing.

you don't really have that option and some riders have successfully cut the top edge.

in a nice smooth arc

then polished the edge.

alternately if going for 'old school" look, the old panhead and shovel windscreens had a beaded edge. a clear plastic bead similar the door edge guard might work if you have a rough cut area.

If you do a search on this forum, there was quite a bit of discussion about this a couple of years ago.
