Just a FYI.
One of my riding friends installed a set. He said that you need to be careful installing the heat shields and be sure and get them in the correct location. If you have to pull them off to readjust them, they will get scratched up. Just what he said, I'm not sure where he heard that.
I believe he was talking about the big X center heat shield. He said some people don't get it centered and have to pull it off and re do it. Then it scratches the other heat shields.
not loud at all with stock header pipe(catted) on my 11 SG ,My stock mufflers with the baffles removed were louder
I just installed CFR's on my 96" 2011 FLHR. I am running a de-catted stock head pipe. I can say that this setup is really loud compared to stock. It is a really nice deep rumble. I am 100% satisfied with this upgrade. I honestly would not want it any louder...
I cannot comment on stock mufflers without baffles, but I suspect the loudness may be an annoying loudness, as opposed to the nice deep rumble from the CFR's.
