Just a FYI.
One of my riding friends installed a set. He said that you need to be careful installing the heat shields and be sure and get them in the correct location. If you have to pull them off to readjust them, they will get scratched up. Just what he said, I'm not sure where he heard that.

I believe he was talking about the big X center heat shield. He said some people don't get it centered and have to pull it off and re do it. Then it scratches the other heat shields.

Cfr's & power duals for me. Install was straight forward. Heat shields piece of cake!

That's too bad about the stock head pipe. I never ran the CFRs that way so I never experienced that sound/volume.

I installed my CFRs with Cobra Power Port Dual Head Pipes. The install was very straight forward and the sound with the CFRs is amazing.

I see you already got your head pipe, but, for anyone else looking, DHP has great pricing on Cobra stuff.

Good luck!

I just installed CFR's on my 96" 2011 FLHR. I am running a de-catted stock head pipe. I can say that this setup is really loud compared to stock. It is a really nice deep rumble. I am 100% satisfied with this upgrade. I honestly would not want it any louder...

I cannot comment on stock mufflers without baffles, but I suspect the loudness may be an annoying loudness, as opposed to the nice deep rumble from the CFR's.

Thanks,

You'll love them with the Power Duels. My installer said the heat shields were a PIA to install.

Here's why your stock header is a little quite: Catalytic Converter
