That sucks. I parked on the street the other night when hitting a few water holes. That black bike is hard to see at night and I was SURE it was going to get clipped. I ordered some LED lights the next day from Joe Florida. I run hot and cold on those things but if they keep someone from running over my baby they will be worth it.

That does suck, another reason I try to always park my bike where I can see it when I'm out. Also this is another example of where an alarm would be handy.

Have you checked to see if Diner has a security camera out there?

Curious about the LED strips... I assume from these comments that you (intend to) leave them on while the bike is parked?
I have been wondering about them as far as side visibility, kind of like parking lights on a car being visible from the side, while moving. I have a had a few close calls lately with merging traffic not seeing me in the dark. Not sure if it would help in that regard?
I am interested in what folks who have them think about their effectiveness beyond the cool looking factor.

The un-sub likely had no insurance and thats why they ran. And don't you need to file a report to collect on insurance. From what you described your looking at 3k in damage.
Sucks man. Hopefully it looks and rides just as good as before the incident

no note.. NOTHING except the damage!!!!
Unless you live in Mayberry you aint going to get a note, lol, around here I would assume it was on purpose, we have some towns that just hate bikers and I have almost had to come to blows several times just to get a coffee, lol.

Anyway when I stop to eat or whatever I always try if at all possible to sit and eat and stuff where I can see my bike the whole time just in case of stuff like that.
You are so vulnerable on the bike people can mess with it, steal stuff off of it, crash into it etc..
If you leave it out of your site, you just never know, as much as that sucks.
Whoever hit you maybe didnt have insurance and wanted to get the hell out of there, or maybe didnt notice they hit you, distracted, or maybe they bumped you on purpose just because, lol.

Either way that sucks, hope our insurance covers it.
