Battery lasted 3 years on my 2010 flhx. Always on tender when setting more than 5 days.

5 years with a battery tender. Purchased the replacement from O'Reillys Auto. Good price. No problems.

The original battery in my Deuce lasted over 6 years with normal use and battery tender hookup with extended non-use. I was pretty pleased with that.

Possibly the current rating.
If they are lead-acid and you charge to quickly (higher current) you can boil them and that's not good.

Mine lasted 3-years almost to the day. Put a brand new HD battery in this Spring. Weather has been crappy, so the bike sat for 3 weeks. Went to go for a ride yesterday. DEAD.. Not even a "click" "click"............. Good advice in here - If the bike is going to sit for a week or more - put a battery tender on it!

I replaced mine right @ 3.5 years. Bike was a little sluggish starting. Didn't know that if the battery was going or what. Decided that I did not want to get caught somewhere w/a dead battery and ponied up the $ a little less than 100 bux @ Battery Mart for the EXT30L. http://www.batterymart.com/p-Big-Cra...-fl-flh-1570cc
Bought a new tender too. http://www.batterymart.com/p-12118-b...a-charger.html

It's not worth a $100 dollars to me to get caught somewhere and have a dead battery..

It used be an advantage when you could get lead acid batteries you could top up yourself, with sealed batteries when it's gone, and no way to top it up
