The bike's been in a storage room since January without any fluids or battery. I poured in the engine oil, tran fluid, and primary fluid. I installed a new $99 Big Crank battery that I got from Batterymart.com. When I turn on the switch, I get nothing. I read in a thread about about an internal battery for the security system, and that if it goes you have to take the bike to the dealership for reprogramming. Any ideas? I would like to avoid taking it to the dealership if at all possible.
When you say "nothing" do you mean, turn the main switch and no lights? Nothing at all?
If so, check the battery. I bought a new car battery once and the polarity was backwards. Not the same symptoms, of course. Just saying that since the battery is new it may be bad. Do you still have the old battery? Have you put it back in to see what you get?

Yea, I mean nothing happens. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Dead as a doorknob. As I said, the battery is brand new. The old battery is overseas where I had it shipped from. I guess I'll put a multi-meter on this one since nothing's happening.
In addition, check the main fuse. Perhaps you removed it when you stored the bike.?.? You may want to check the cable ends opposite of where they connect to the battery.
Perhaps the battery is w/out a charge? If, when you check it you find it dead, without a charge, you may want to try charging it. Do you have a charger? See if it will take a charge.

Turns out they had removed the main fuse and stuck it behind a plastic clip beside the fuse box. I'm getting lights now! My next step is to fill the fuel tank. I hope there's no rust in it from condensation. I looked in it as much as possible with a flashlight. It looks ok from what I could tell. We'll see. Thanks for the tips!

Oh, and I meant to add that I checked the battery with a meter. It's good. Plus I emailed batterymart.com and asked them if they ship the batteries with a charge. They do!
I filled the tank with gas today, connected battery, and installed main fuse. The starter is turning over just fine, but no joy. There was not even a hint of it trying to start. Wonder what I could check now...
Take out a spark plug, put the wire back on, lay it on the cylinder head, turn the engine over. You should see a blue arch of electricity come on then off then on. If not, no spark.
How's the fuel? Could water, condensation, gotten into the tank? Are you getting fuel to the injectors?
Air, I doubt if this is the problem.
It's a matter of checking out each item. No fuel? Why? No spark? Why?
Of course, with today's engines, there are a lot of possibilities.
Is your 2010 fuel injected?
When I go to start my 2011 I turn on the main switch located on the tank. Then I turn on the run switch located on the right handle bar. I can hear the fuel pump pressurize the system. Is this the same process for your 2010? Do you hear the system pressurize? Is that fuse out, too? Is it loose?
