That's the one I had........the speed cradle...I put about 200 miles on it and gave it away for free. I am also 5'5"

I just found it hard as a rock. I felt like I was seating on the rear fender. It does move you fwd and down, but I was looking for long ride comfort.

I am glad you like it cause after forking out $280 I was very disappointed with how I felt with it.

The Mahogany brown seat does not move me fwd but does down and it is very comfy to me.

I wonder if your suspension played any part in the discomfort. I know with my air suspension I can set it too hard and make the wife and I hate roadway imperfections.

Yes it does but I can't give you specifics. Just by its design you can move forward and firmly plant your feet on the ground as it narrows at the nose.

Great info, I've been wondering the same question, I have a Danny Gray buttcrack, love the look and feels great but it just takes me back about 1-2 in. out of reach so this really helps. I can see how much time and $$$ you can drop trying to find the right set-up, or visit the forums for some sage advice.

Finding a seat that moves you forward AND down is always the challenge. It is nearly impossible to accomplish and for obvious reasons.
Take a look at the frame beneath the seat. As you go forward the frame rises quickly which only allows minimal lowering while at the same time moving the rider forward.
It's far easier to find a seat that gets you down to the level you want and then change the bars to bring them back to you.

A buddy of mine is real happy with his C&C forward seat with backrest. He says he's 5'8" but I think more like 5'6"! LOL! Maybe he measured with his boots on!

Thanks, My Danny Gray Weekday solo puts me a little far back on my new Roadie, it works great on my King though. I am trying to decide between a Speedcradle and a C&C solo, would like to go straight down as opposed to forward or backward.
Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread................

Default The speed solo

You can also have them adjust the Danny Gray Speed Solo to move you forward if you want. I'm considering the speed solo with the gel upgrade and an inch or so forward because I have a 29" inseam. As far as I know, I think Danny Gray can do anything you want with the seat if you're willing to fork over the $$$.

Seats are like exhausts and pizza, everyone's different. I've got the Mustang Wide solo and it's as hard as the Danny Gray description above and although it doesn't kill me on long rides, I wish it was softer and had more squish.
