hive bin reading all the threads and was doing a complete stero with a new head unit but that has changed do to the wife needs surgery so for now can i run just speakers in faring and lowers with original hk unit and be able to upgrade later without having to buy more speakers was going to use arc 125.2 amp sony head unit and speakers wanted either alpines or focal but now gotta go cheaper is this doable buy the way its going on a 07 sg thanks for the help guys bud

If your doing speakers only, almost anything sounds better than stock. Are you also going to stick with 5.25" or are you going 6.5"?

Sure ya can. I would look at some polk or infinity 2ohm 6.5s. They will work good with the stock unit and will also handle an amp.

Hogtunes is very affordable and sound extremely good for the price, but they only have the 5.25's I believe.

Can't beat the Polk MM651 speakers. I had them on the stock head unit before i got my amp. They were a huge improvement over stock. And the sound even better after i added a amp.

If you are trying to go as cheap as you can and leave room for expandability. I would go with the Polks.

Talking speakers

thanks for the input guys now going to a 2ohm peaker in series that has a higher wattage or rms running off a stock head unit wont hurt the speakers down the road? thanks for oyure input and help guys bud
