I just installed Monster Rounds on the Street Glide with dresser duels..I have only 19 miles on the pipes (work and weather) I havent been able to ride..I was wondering how much louder are the pipes after you start putting some miles on the bike. Not use to having pipes so quite..I had a ProPipe 2 into 1 after about 1,000 miles it got really loud which I liked..
I know some have removed the wrapping around the baffles but if the pipes are going too get louder I might just wait and see.

The V&H Monster Rounds and Monster Ovals are touring and neighbor friendly slip-ons. They will give you a nice deep sound and let you know they are there when you open it up, but will let you hear the stereo and not give you a headache during normal cruise. They are definitely not a let-everyone-know-you're-coming-3-blocks-away kinda pipe. I love my MOs for that very reason.
If you want loud you may be disappointed. They will get deeper and a bit louder if you remove the cat and once you ride them a while, but not significantly so.
I have the monster rounds on my 2012 FLHTK and I absolutely love them. I also installed the dresser duels so I don't have the restrictive head pipe and that might make all the difference in the world. They have a very deep sound at idle and bark when you get on it. At crushing speeds you can hear the stereo pretty good. I think they are a great all around pipe if that is what you are looking for.
i have mo's on the stock headers and they arent loud but do have a nice deep note. as a previous poster said, when you give it a bit they will bark a little bit more, but i wouldnt describe them as loud.
As said they are quiet, w/ the set up listed in my sig I was not real happy w/ the sound. To me they sounded a bit too close to stock, sooooooo ....
Yesterday I removed the baffles, removed all insulation & removed the tack welds that hold the preforated baffel section from the end cans & re installed, Sounds much better !!! Takes less than an hour.
My thoughts for what it's worth, the baffles appear to have a design where the sound comes from the header pipe & are funneled through the center of the preforated area of the baffel, through the insulation to the main body of the muffler & then through more insulation & out the end can. In short the sound travels in an " S " pattern.
I will post pics & sound clips if I can get out that way today if any are interested.

+1 on that. Bought mine for the very reason they are not as loud as some, and have the look I wanted. Mine have gotten somewhat louder since installing the Power Duals head pipe and putting some miles on, but MRs are not the ticket if you're looking to wake up the neighborhood. To me, that's a positive.
+1 and another +1 on that. I've had the V&H Power Duals and Monster Rounds on my Ultra for about two years and while they do get louder, they are not CFR-loud.
I would be interested in how they sound..Also any tips on how to get the baffles out...

I went from the True Duals w/ Thunder Cones to Monster Ovals, got tired of my ears ringing.
Swapped the Ovals for the Rounds, mainly for looks. Sound is close to the same. The Ovals had about 10k on them & the Rounds have about 5k now. Both get a bit louder & deeper with miles on them.
Once I got used to the quietness now vs Thunder Cones... I wont be going back to loud exhaust.
