I'm very interested in this topic, but every time this comes up a bunch of folks hijack the thread and use it as a debate on safety vs. helmet vs. wtf...who cares!
I'm simply interested in your recommendations on cost effective - loud a$$ horns. I'd be willing to spend about $50 - $100 on this. Please post any pics, part numbers, places to buy.
Much appreciated if you don't hijack this thread (but I mentioned that).

Fiamm makes some loud azz horns. Lots of BMW riders use 'em. I had a Freeway Blaster on my K75 and up close it was painfully loud. Amazon is a good source and their not expensive. Most loud horns won't fit the HA cowbell however.
Low cost simple way add a second stock or car horn.
On the older frame touring bikes a simple flat mounting bracket that come with replace meant car horns will fit front tank mount. Horn is out of the way and out of sight, a simple quick splice of wires and both horn work fine.
On my 07 I put one on each side let had low tone right high tone whole job cost me about 15 dollars.
On the 2011 and the 2013 I moved horn to crash bar air deflectors and did the same thing but used two stock HD horns cost free had them laying around.
No rule says you must mount them behind cow bell lot of cool place to hid them on a HD.

Try: Stebel this is a two tone horn. slightly deeper in sound than the Siebel below
or
Siebel horns which you can buy from many places.
or
the Wolo bad Boy
I personally think the Cow Bell is the most ill-designed part of the Harley. Most any other type of horn looks much better although it seems the later model HD horns may be louder than in the past. Anyone else think the newer ones are louder?
Agreed on the cowbell. I have a round one Chrome aftermarket cover I'm trying to fit something into. Some of you guys have actually put two horns on your bikes?
+1 for the Pro Pad Mini Beast. I have the Mini Beast V that is powder coated wrinkle black with polished fins. Matches the engine look very nicely. It was an easy install and sounds great. It can be heard at 70+ on the highway. It will save your tail for sure. Around $150 to $225 depending where you buy it, but it's well worth the extra $s.
