Do a search on this issue, but here is one of the ways to install maps to Zumo.
Thanks. I had searched the site and contacted them with no luck on fixing the problem. I've always had enough memory until now. I will try this. Still, the algorithm changes for route calculation are hosed. This is good info you posted and I appreciate it.

How is the overall operation of the unit, besides the charging issue?

In the 4 hours that I got to use it before the low battery warning, I really liked it. One of the problems that I had with the Nuvi was that it was very difficult to see, especially if I put it in a plastic bag for waterproofing. When I left for Daytona, it was sunny. The screen was easy to see in the sunlight and the screen size was good for these old man eyes.

I didn't get a chance to play around with all of the features, so I can't say much about those. The unit is getting sent back so I hope that I will know the whole story in a few weeks.

I am now limited to the eastern half of the US for entering destinations. The unit no longer recognizes any states west of the Mississippi River. The maps are there. I just can't enter the states. Also, they have changed their algorithms to where routing appears to be random. Choosing the shortest distance doesn't mean the that's the routing I will get. Faster time is the same. Sometime the faster time choice routes me 60 miles further. I am really disgusted with Garmin at this point because I am required to buy a new unit to be able to upgrade the entire continental U.S. maps. And the new routing algorithms suck. I am close to being done with Garmin. They have taken a dependable navigation system with a great user interface and turned it to crap.

What unit are you using that ran out of memory?

There is most likely a lot of crap on your GPS you will never use. If you hook it up to your puter and open it up you can remove a bunch of crap such as voices and text that you are not interested in. These files are not very large, usually just a few kb each but there are enough of them to free up quite a bit of memory.

Try the following site. I had a couple of problems with my Street Pilot, and one with my Nuvi 760. I found the fixes here. Be prepared to spend some time on the site. They really like their navigation units and are just about as talkative as we here on this forum are. But, it's full of good information.
