Default bottem end too?

thinking its time to upgrade my 08 flhx 96 to 106 or 107.looking at revelution performance,or axtell kits.would change to gear driven cams.should i do crank as well.im not drag racer just want to get that twist and go reliability especially two up,while bullet proofing my motor for the long run.im close to big boyz as well as hillside.porting heads and throttle body are an option as well.thanks for the input.i respect honest knowledgable advice.so fire away!

I just sent the wheels. if you are thinking of getting a timkin brg. installed, by all means send the cases. you don't have to, you set endplay by the compensator, on the left side. tighten it up and endplay is set. I also would suggest getting the SE lefty brg. but get two and install them on both sides. between talking with them , and seeing the work done, and feeling the bike run, I wouldn't send them anywhere but darkhorse. not that RP is bad, Darkhorse is just plain better in the details, and in price, I think, but can't remember now. another upgrade would be H-beam rods. I recommend them to everybody with the new style tapered wrist pin rod bushings. I believe yours are early enough, not to have them, but I would at least get the rod bushings redone. that is the tightest tolerance on the whole motor. call and ask if they want the cases. they can seal them up for you if you want, that way as well.

Doing a 107 for mine right now. I sent my bottom end out to TMan. Thought about Rev Perf but TMan is only 1.5 hours away.

I'm having Don from Head Designs by Deweyndo the 107 kit and head porting

I also used Darkhorse when I did the 103 for my Road King. They did a great job. I gave them just the crank and had my builder do the timken conversion. My builder recommended Darkhorse over Rev.

Default Bottom end

I would not consider gear drive cams without having the bottom end checked for run out. The chances are it will be out of spec (.003) for gear drive cams.
