The trade agreement with China was supposed to be a two-way street, meaning they would import USA made goods equal to what we import from China.

Never happened of course, they slyly imported our technologies, copied them - negating all trademark and copyright laws - and are now reselling that same technology back to the USA cheaper by means of currency manipulation.

Politicians who have insider information and profit highly from such actions naturally do not want it to stop, which is why it is allowed to continue.

Profit and greed for the select few cause job loss, grief and hardship for the majority, nothing new here.

What to do? Try as best as you can to purchase only USA made goods, and study Political activity, and vote out the treasonous Politicians who profit from unsavory China trade activities.

Email HD Headquarters to inform, and remind them of your dissatisfaction. American Iron?

One point missing from this discussion is the past proven fact that Chinese companies have shown themselves to be treacherous in substituting cheap, and often dangerous materials - and NOT following "specifications" - if they foresee a profitable means to do so. I don't think the US based Baby Formula Company specified "arsenic" in the original formula.

FWIW, I worked directly with China from 1993 to 2010, now indirectly. Sneaky and underhanded doesn't even come close my friends.

Always check the Labels for "Made in USA", then also check carefully online, etc., because sneaky underhanded attorneys have also placed a load of Loopholes in labeling something "Made in USA". Very often, it isn't, although labeled as such. Tread carefully... and wisely. Save your riding buddies homes and jobs.

Yep, I still spend time there and agree with everything you say below, 100%. We have been sold out by our own so called leaders for paltry sums at that. The jig is about up, its not sustainable.

Keeps canadians working, so we can buy properties in FL, or rent places during the winter, compared to spending our money in Cuba
I was erading an article in National Geographic this month where they noted the many Canadian vacationers to Cuba.

Yup, as well as many Americans that fly out of Toronto or other Canadian airports.

Unfortunately half of them don't know how to navigate and end up here in South Fla with our Cubans. No tipping and bad Driving (even worse than the locals, and that's bad) abounds all winter long here.

But, like the other non-Americans who chime in about our loss of jobs overseas - this is not the point.

It's already been summed up quite well -

Every time we purchase a "Made in USA" product, we help to make the USA stronger, and help provide jobs, income, livelihood and growth.

Every time we by "Made in China", we do the same for China

The only thing I would add to the second statement is .....and we also weaken America.
Despite the fact that this is so true it does feel very wrong.
Xi Jinping (China's new leader) has stated that in 2020 China's GDP will be twice that of the US and salaries will have dubbled.
That alone will have an effect on China as, they will not be able to produce things as cheaply as they do now and the balance wil be redressed slowly.
And this does not teke into account the high cost they face when in less than 10 years the will have an even higher ageing population than we do.(think cost)

Not to mention with the declining of western economies they (China) will have to find new markets that they do not currently service to sell their wears to. The world is changing and that is bad for the west, but it is not necessarily a good thing for other nations either.

I heard it was only the "Made in USA" lables that were made in the USA, the product they are attached to is likely made in china, never trust a politician or a guy from China

Prophet - couldn't have summed this mess up better than you just did. Worked there, seen everything in spades that you talked about. Until the USA borders are controlled equally, this crap will continue. The Corporate dogs in bed with the Politicians ....... America is selling it's technology and China is consuming that and then shoving cheap consumable goods down our throats. Don't believe for a minute that "made in america" stamped on a box or cover means anything. The box may be made in USA, but the contents .... questionable. If you lived in China for a few years, you would have a different opinion for sure of the Chinese ....... we always said ...... Must be lying, they just opened their mouths.

Seems like a "catch 22" but it's really not. If we dropped the people from welfare who are able to work, paid them a living wage for a quality work ethic, brought the jobs back home, and then learned to live with one flat screen tv for the house instead of 4 or 5, ate quality meals and paid what they were worth, and bought domestic whenever possible it would probably result in fewer fat people, begin to reduce the national debt, reduce crime, and stop the erosion of our great nation in general. ...In my opinion anywaz.
