Gerbing's 12 Volt DC Plug Adaptor
Ride Safe
Gerbing gloves are rated for 2.2A and the liner 6.4A, and IMO using those two together shouldn't cause any problems for the lighter connection. OTOH if you want to add more gear to the mix (pants, etc.) you may hit the wall, and if you do it will simply blow either the fuse on the gear harness or the bike's 15A fuse.
I have the liner and gloves and am running them through the Accessory connector under the seat, switched by the ACC switch on the dash and controlled with a Gerbing's single controller. I've had no trouble connecting there, but my '07 has no other overhead on the P&A fuse, powering only the ACC switch. At least some later bikes use this fuse for the rear lighting, etc., apparently swapping that overhead with the Accessory fuse when compared to the '07. So, it would seem the capacity at the cig lighter would be very close to Gerbing's spec (15A) for the later bikes, based on my cursory look at '09 wiring diagrams.
As a side note, using the single controller with the liner and gloves will channel more heat to the liner than the gloves, so I would advise a dual-controller in that case. I'm going to buy one soon to replace my single controller.
Anyone have an idea?
thanks

1. Make sure the bike is running when you turn the controller on. If it isn't running, it doesn't heat up and the display flashes (or at least that's what I noticed on mine).
2. If I turn the wrong switch on, I get a flashing orange. When it's on and heating, it's green. On my temperature controller, it's the right **** not the left **** that controls the main from the battery. Perhaps you were turning the wrong one on first? This is just a hypothesis, as I only have one piece of heated gear so I don't know how the controller works with two.
I am assuming gloves and a liner are not more than 10 amps.
Hope this helps at least a little.
