Lots of people like the looks, but it dumps the hot dirty oily air from you engine into the air cleaner, bypassing the filter.
Engines run better and last longer with cool dry air.

I had one on my '08 R/G for 40 plus thousand miles and really
liked the looks of it.
Yeah, it did start to spew an oil spray which left a mess on the
side of the bike or my wife's jeans.
Never once was my oil level too high, in fact I was quite ****
about keeping a check on it so it stayed at the 1/2 qt below full mark.
I traded mine out last spring for a RSD breather because
I wanted vented lowers, and using the compact element made
it slightly difficult to access the magnetic doors.
