Does the harley backrest bracket have to come off to put on a solo seat like a brawler?

I would think so, if not it would look weird. JMO. Forgot to ask, what bike is the solo seat going on?

Its a 12' Roadglide. Wondered if the seat would cover it up.

I found this in WTB, maybe this will help.
Looking for an H-D detachable solo luggage rack P/N # 54213-09. Fits '09 and newer touring motorcycles without a Tour-Pak. I want to put it on my '12 Road King (FLHR).

Detachable Solo Luggage Rack

Add touring capabilities to your solo seat-equipped model in less than 60 seconds. This Detachable Solo Rack fits over the fender when the passenger pillion is removed. The rack features sweeping curved rails, and the chrome finish adds a stylish flair. Easily interchangeable with Detachable Passenger Sissy Bar Upright. Requires installation of appropriate Docking Hardware Kit. Can be used with Universal Luggage Rack Bag P/N 98868-98.

54213-09

Fits '09-later FLHR, FLHRC, FLHT, FLHX, FLTR, FLTRX, FLHRSE5, FLHXSE/2/3, FLTRSE3 and FLTRXSE/2 models equipped with a solo seat. Requires separate purchase of 2-Point or 4-Point Docking Hardware Kit.

MSRP US $219.95
