I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse and I’m part of the Geezer Glide Mafia now, well not really. My bud Charlie and I decided to go for a ride down to Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson, big mistake J. Anyway I see this 2011 Electra Glide Ultra Limited FLHTK (that’s a mouthful) with 7300 miles and I thought that’s a really nice looking bike, you know what happened next. Two hours later the Road King was gone and I rode home on my new bike to me.
The Road King was running fine but after more than 62,000 miles it was starting to feel old. I did the Stage One on my RK but I think this pulls nicer. I wasn’t sure if there would be that big of a difference but I’m down shifting a whole lot less with the 103 motor. I’ve now rode more than 600 miles and I can say the motor is a big improvement over the 96 motor.
Styling wise I think the Road King is a nicer bike, but the Limited is hands down better when comparing function over form. Small things like a power outlet in the trunk, the heated grips or the Aux port for an MP3 player really add up to nice conveniences.
Now to start planning some trips, I think the miles are going to go by easier with this full on touring bike. Already it’s less fatiguing than the Road King and that was the most comfortable bike I’ve ever owned. I’m starting to get this comfort thing now that I own a Geezer Glide.
Here are some pictures because somone will tell me I need too.
That's a Beauty! A smile with every mile. Let Us know how long Your grin lasts while riding.
Thanks guys, the miles do go down easy on this bike. I've ridden almost 700 miles in the last week just fooling around. I like having the extra space, I thought I might add the removable Tour-Pac kit but will see, I did like that the RK was sort of a convertable bike.
I worked for a motorcycle dealership when I was young and I used to tell the owner I can't see myself ever owning a bike with a faring, bags etc... He said we'll see in 30 years, he was right from RK to EG and now I say I'll never own a bike without bags at least.
Looking at all of your bikes is going to cost me more money, some nice looking scooters you guys have.
You bought what will be my next bike. Just don't know when. Looking ahead to a daughter starting college in two years. So for now I'm happy with what I have. But FLHTK is my goal! Congrats! Gorgeous bike.
Yea I know you guys cost me more money than any women has. I have to stay away from all the ideas, but nooo the 2013 P&A catalog just came in the mail I'm f!@#@.
And one thing no one has talked about yet, as far as I know. The FLHTK comes standard with ABS. If you didn't have that on your RK, and I don't imagine you did, then get to know it. It could save your life. Again, good luck with the new scoot.
I agree had ABS on the RK so I know what to expect.
