Last year I had an 04 SE ElectraGlide with a thunder header. The motor was built. The TH was a little obnoxius for my taste. We Dynoed it then put a pro pipe on and dynoed it again. It cost me about 10 horses to replace the thunder header with a pro pipe. I put the thunderheader back on...
I have the se2/1. Not loud at all. I had the se slipons before, that I liked better. But I am getting geared cams installed and was told it would be louder. I do like the power Ifeel on the bike. Wont know for sure till I get it dynoed. Spoke to the installer who said to give it at least 250mi(the instructions call for 500mi) breakin period before dyno.
The screaming eagle version of the Vance and Hines ProPipe, has a much more restricted baffle...it sounds much less menacing, costs you some power, the baffles are NOT interchangable with the V&H ProPipe,....AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF THEY COST MORE.[:@] Typical HD B.S.
Get the V&H version of the ProPipe and you'll be MUCH happier. I find the sound to be about perfect till the baffle packing blows out....But I replaced my fiberglass packing with medium grade steel wool and it made it through the 10,600 miles I put on this year. It has a nice rumble to it at cruise but EVERYONE will know you're coming if you nail the throttle. I bought mine for $397.00 online with free shipping.

You mean the packing can eventually come out after time. What if I took out the packing, wouled that give me more power and souned? Or should I leave in the packing or exchange it now?

I have no idea what the baffle is like inside the Screaming eagle version of the ProPipe. I don't even know if the baffle is removable for maintenance. I've just heard that you cannot use the V&H ProPipe baffles in the SE version.

The baffle on the se does come out. There are 2 screws. The packing wraps around the baffle. Had my bike dynoed and spoke to the teck about removing the packing. He said it is there to protect the exterior chrome from blueing. He also pointed to the inside of the baffle atwhere the afr guage goes into and said that if I open it up a little I should get a little more power and sound. Also you are right, the v&h baffle will not fit the se pro. He tried it.
I have them on my 2002 Fat Boy EFI. Nice sounding pipe. Made by Vance and Hines for Harley. Harley no longer sells them. They were $480.00 when new. Fit and finish was\is top notch. I really like the look and get compliments on them all the time. Something different that not everyone has too!! Not as loud as straight pipes, but certainly makes some noise when you nail it and real throaty sound at idle.
