02 Ultra. I always feel like I am being pushed into the tank and that the family jewels are being crushed (I mean they are so #%^@ huge anyway). Feel like there should be more seat/leg room on such a big bike.
So I had the seat off today to attach a battery tender cable and for the first time really noticed the back rest clamping bracket is adjustable. If I move it back will it still line up with the slot in the seat? How does this affect the room the SO has? I have never seen a post on this topic and it just may be a simple DUH! moment to solve my problem.
Also, you can attach and adjust he backrest while holding the seat off the frame THEN attach the seat. Some people try to feed the backrest arms down through the slit in the seat, not necessary.
Well it was a DUH moment. Moved the bracket back and all is well. Wish I had figured out that little gem at the BEGINNING of the riding season.
wish you had posted this in the beginning of the riding season , did not even think about them being adjustable , thought you just learned to live with the position . will try to adjust mine back alittle . duh

I feed mine down through the seat all the time. I take mine off when the wife is with me and put it back on when I'm solo. No problem.
