So I was headed out Sunday morning for a ride with a buddy. Did the usual pre-ride stuff, tire pressure, check for stuff falling off etc. Went to put some things in my saddlebag and lo and behold the rear bracket that holds the lid closed was gone. The four screws that hold it on the bag were sitting in the bottom of the saddle bag, but the bracket...gone.
Stopped by the dealer this afternoon and the parts guy is looking at me like I have two heads. Finally take him over to a bike on the floor and show him what I need. Don't have any, have to order it. Take about a week. Fortunately I didn't have to buy the entire saddlebag. Just to be safe, I had him order two. Oh, and btw, they're $16.53 each and look like they should cost about $1.98. Now that I'm thinking about it, probably should have ordered extra screws, I'm quite sure they won't be included!
Why that one came loose I have no idea. I checked the others and they're all tight. you can bet that the new one is going to be put on with a generous amount of locktite!
be carefull with that loctite , there was a post on here were a guy used loctite on his windshild bolts and it ate holes in his fiberglass fairing around the bolts , I think I remember the story right
