One more helpful tip that I have learned over doing this job a few times. I cover the heatshields and any other exposed "show-chrome" with the blue painters tape before I start the job. This prevents getting anything scratched, full of finger prints, and oil/grease. When done just remove the tape before starting up the engine. Everything will look good as new, and you don't have to worry about getting the prints and or oil off before starting the bike. By the way I used the Fuel-Moto 2-1-2 pipe on my bike.

Default Done mine a couple of times

Couple of things I would recommend. One, for the nuts on the exhuast flanges I used a 1/4 inch drive with a 8 inch extension and a "U" joint. Front pipe has limited space and the smaller diameter tools with the u joint are easier to manuver around the frame. The other is get you a dental pick with a hooked end and a pair of small needle nose pliers. It will greatly help in removing the gaskets. Also while in the front...WATCH THE FRONT FENDER! It's real close to what your working on and it likes to get in the way. And use a torque wrench. Re-check after a couple of heat cycles.

I chose a fuelmoto 2-1-2 header. I like it.
