Default 2011 SE compensator

i Have a 2011 SG, bought it used with a 1000k on it. Already had the 103 upgrade. I now have over 10k miles, my starter went out this week. I Looked at the heads I could see no CR, my thinking that without the CR it puts more of a load on the starter and thats what took mine out. Well start looking up some info, and was wondering about the Compensator. Read a few posts saying some of the first 2011s may have the old compesator, not the new SE comp. After reading so many post was wondering if I was having some comp issues as well. (Noises and rattles). Mine was a early 2011 any chance I would have the old style in my bike?

Chances would be slim to none. Don't over think this too much. Sometimes parts just fail for many reasons. Most times we never figure it out. Repair it and move on. Every day you miss riding is a day you never get back.

Is it a factory 103 upgrade, powerpack option, or was it done later? If it's factory it should have ACRs, auto comp releases.

It was added later, the SE 103 upgrade.
Pulled the starter last night, took to the local Autozone, bench tested and the gear just spun in housing, never tried to kick out. Found a new take off on ebay for $75, should be here Thursday. Back on on the road.
Thanks for the replys, just over thinking it.

Mine went through two starters before I installed the Hi-Torque starter and the SE compensator. I haven't had a problem since.

All the 2011 Touring Bikes were supposed to have the SE Compensator. It was on the Harley list of changes I read when I bought my 2011 Streetglide in Oct of 2010.

I don't believe this to be correct info (but others with more experience such as DAWG may chime in)

I think the compensator from 11 and up was modified but I don't think it's the SE compensator.

1000K = 1000 x K = 1000 x 1000 = one million miles! Holy crap, what an awsome bike!

I have nothing usefull to add, so I exit stage left.
