I don't think the powerpack supports more than stage 1 so at least a PCV would be needed for cams. The tuner and tune is gonna shoot most of your $800. Ya may get away with the powerpack with a bore. I'm a big cam guy but for your budget, boring your cylinders to 107 with some pistons to bump compression along with compression releases may be your best choice. It will be easy to add the tuner and cams down the road.

My tune was free from Fuel moto, so for me it was less than $800. With his fuel pack he will need a different option. But I was responding to the "fairy tale" comment, not the OP's question. For me to add a big bore to my stage two was less than $800.

I hear ya brother, like I said I'm with you 100%.

I'm going the same route on my new bike, gonna do the cams first with the stage one and upgrade to the big bore later.

It was so worth it, and for us guys that can't afford to do everything at once its the best option to start building a solid platform to build on. I was happy with just cams for about a year, just long enough to put everything else aside for the big bore. Hopefully the 106 will keep my happy for a while.

OP, if you want performance you can feel and will happy with your money spent than a good set of cams is the way to go IMHO. But your a little limited with your fuel pack, I agree you might have to spend more than $800 unless you buy some used SE255 cams and a different tuner. But the 255's might limit you down the road if you want to go big bore, thats why its best to spend your money on what you want to the first time.

I'd call Fuel Moto and order the TW-222 and installation kit. You can also get a PCV from them. FM will load the right map in the PCV you buy. All in you'll be around $800 if you do the install work yourself.

Your V&H tuner isn't going to work very well for your cams. Sell it to one of your buddies if you do cams.

The V&H may work if you want to do a 103 big bore upgrade. You can do a 103 big bore with HD parts for a little over $500 (HD jugs $300, HD piston set $150, HD gaskets $75). I did this on my brothers bike it turned out nice.

I still think cams are the best route.
Good luck.

Glad I read thru the post, this is exactly what I was about to reccomend. Your stock 09 head pipe is catless, so will work fine as a 2-1-2. The TW-222's & SE 255' both have good TQ right off idle, which it what us "big guy's" need to get our fat azz's moving! (300+ myself). On my 2007 96", with me & the OL on, It almost flet I needed to pull a Fred Flintstone by pushing the bike with my feet to get us going! After Stage 1 (Rinehart TD's, SE A\C & PC-V) + SE 255 cams, it was a different bike! Should have left it alone at that point! Still have those low miles 255's and they are going in my RG soon!

I guess I don't understand the fascination with the 222 or 255s?
