Default M.P.G. Question

Hey! Y'all, I ride a 2010 Road King Police, and it runs great completly stock, as far as I know, but my question is, What would be the first and cheapest upgrade to get a little more mpg. out of her. Air box? exhaust? what? I already spent my accesories budget for this year putting after market l.e.d. break lights and l.e.d.rear turn signals. (I like to be seen from the rear) but MAN, I gotta start getting better than 33 mpg or else. well, I don't know what. Any suggestions would be appretiated. Thanks

33 seems a little low for a stock bike. Normally, anything you do to the bike will decrease mileage, not increase it. Maybe it's not really stock.

If it's stock and your only getting 33mpg, the way of getting better mpg I'd say is all in the wrist! Take it easy on that throttle! LOL!

I have an '11 RKC w/ the 103" and I get 45 solo and 40 two up. I am guesing your 2010 has a 96". I would think a stock engine would do better.

My stock 2010 StreetGlide gets around 50mpg on tours where I am running at 70 or so but can drop to maybe as low as 40 if I stay on the throttle and/or mountain terrain.

Mine is an 09 w/96" and that's about the same mileage I'm getting. 33 mpg seems pretty low for a stock bike.

I know that a few motor officers had their police bikes "tuned up" out of there own pocket to get a little more torque. My guess it is not truly stock.

Have the dealer you bought it from check it out.

My 2010 RK is bone stock and I get 42-44 mpg all the time. Are you sure there isn't some modification on yours? Cams, tuner, something?

I agree with the others, 33 is way low and seems out of whack.

I have big sucker, SE2 exhaust and stage 1 tuner. I get 41-49 mpg. depending on the terrain and speed.
