Default Front tire removal

2012 flhxse3 can you do this without taking off calipers and simply raising the bike high on a lift and dropping the wheel out of the calipers and out? Never taken it off just wondering?

Yes the rotor will come off with the wheel and you should be able to do this with the bike lifted.

That's plain bad advice.

I'm curious about this too. Also, what are you using to lift the front?

The easy way is just take the caliper loose and tie up to the engine guard. You probably could leave it on and drop the wheel but when you put the wheel back on it might be a pita.besides taking caliper off is soooo easy

Why can't you simply push the caliper piston back in to open up the pads and slide the rotors back in? Taking it off is easy but I am determining whether it's a necessity not whether it's easy.
