Some time this month I should hit it. I have 100 miles to go. Then I am going to do chain tensioners & service. Do you think people would believe it's a new bike with zero miles?
Awesome Mileage man. Id be interested in hearing what all if any problems you have had over the hundred thou. And ya i dropped my bike 3 times last summer alone. lol.
As of last Sunday I posted 98,010 miles so far in 5 years riding in New England.
21,000 this year so far. I do my own routine maintenance. Couple of years ago had output shaft bearing develope a leak, had that replace and at the same time had them replace compensator with an SE version. Also has starter problems and had that replaced spring of 2010. This spring I replaced pulleys along with the belt, and since they were in there had all bearings replaced. Only other issue was bike went into limp mode for a couple of days until we found intermittent wire connection behind air cleaner. This year my air horn died and HD doesn't have a replacement anymore so extended warranty was useless. Just found out you can not get another extended warranty if you have over 75,000 miles. But can't really complain with performance of my bike in the last 5 years. Would like to have Fuel Motto put their 107 kit in this next spring. we'll see.
Congrats, I'm 900 miles away from doing the 50,000 mile service on my 2007 FLH. So far have done all my own maintenance to include an SE compensator and rear drive belt. It had the pacman syndrome.
Just curious...what kind of mods has it had and have you had any issues in the first 100K? I plan to run mine at least to there before I buy another new one. By then I should be able to get one of the new liquid cooled models!
It's a 1999 with a 95 CI kit, not sure what cams it has. SE adjustable push rods, MLS head gaskets, tensioners & cam chest has timken bearings, 05 SG wheels, Painted inner fairing, the Live to Ride & Ride to Live badges, Rhinehart knock offs & a SE air filter.
As to the question about for resale value, no, just me getting a tickle about it reading lower miles. I wanted to go with a bigger engine, Baker DD6 & FBI 200mm rear tire kit but am not going to be able to do that. Just need to keep it running & safe for now, maybe some day I will be able to afford to do the mods I want. Thanks
Too cool. Do your own maintenance? Tell us what you do and any problems. If it were me I would have at least dropped it once in that gravel drive way you have. Best friend has dropped his twice in the grass in his yard coming out of his shead. HA
I do all my own maintenence. I have not dropped it in my driveway but have dropped it with my wife on the back, I was backing up & getting ready to pull forward on a hill & my wife decided to get more comfy. It had to be the right timing but the bike dropped like a big rock. The only other time I dropped it was on Pikes Peak during a practice run for one of our customers, I was backing it down a hill to get some light on the 911 to get it off of the trailer (4:00am) & lost my footing. No damage was done to the bike either time.
Congrats aires4155 on your bike, I have replaced the head gaskets on mine since they used a grafite style on it, I went to a MLS gasket. Have had to replace some injectors, stator & associated parts, tensioners & bearings. My rear belt is worn & the pulley is worse but still works, need to get the pulleys & belts sooner than later & replaced my front shock seals but want to go with the chrome lowers. I painted my inner fairing myself. Will be needing a pait job soon due to all the rock chips, but in due time.
