Unhappy 2012 throttle response ?

Just curious if anyone notices after the bike is warmed up and your blipping the grip... Do you get a pop as if the exhaust is clogged? Is it the TBW , leanness, or the cat? My last bike was an 08 dyna.

Yea I get that too...must be a lean condition that causes this, almost sounds like an intake backfire.

Are you talking about blipping for no reason or maybe bringing the rpm up a little while gearing down?
If the throttle response hasn't been adjusted and it's still stock you will get that but again why the blipping?

Say you blip it from an idle, just to hear some noise. It may pop once. Before EFI, this was called a carb fart.

It's caused by a sudden lean condition that causes a misfire. When you suddenly open the throttle quickly, the intake vacuum increases and the injector is supposed to add fuel to compensate for more air.

At idle, the AFR is already pretty lean for emissions/economy. What can happen is that if the timing is right, the extra fuel doesn't get to the cylinder for that first combustion. Pop! Then everything is fine once the ECU catches up.

It can be fixed by getting a tuner and increasing the idle AFR, or just not blipping the throttle wide open from a closed position. Roll on...

Why are you blipping your throttle?

No blipping issues but....I hit the rev limiter the other day down shifting and passing a car. Seemed like the rev limit killed the ignition until I let off the throttle and rolled back on. There was an unusually long delay so I let off and when i rolled back on it she was running.
