I usually raise my bike(2000 ultra classic) up on a jack to detail it. I've gotton into the habit of leaving it up on the jack during the week(on the locks). Does this effect the supension negatively?

Thanks for all responses!

Racing bikes are stored on jacks. If large numbers slowly diffuse through the paint then you have to worry

perfectly good to store with tension off shocks.

thats the reason we store m16s and m4s with the hammer forward - keeps tension off the spring for long periods

i jack mine up if its down for any period of time

I place my SG on a jack to prevent the kick stand spring taking a set when its extended....insert roll eyes here. You guys crack me up with stupid questions. What about valve springs being compressed while in storage?? or gas caps tight and the fuel tank under pressure??? how about air in the tires expanding onto the little bitty valve stem?? carry on ....and use a tin foil hat.

The only issue I see with storing the bike up on the jack is that you take the pressure off of the shocks and that could lead to loss of the Harley air. Then you would have to go to the dealer to have them put Harley air back in in order for your shocks to work.

But that's okay, because the vacuum it creates will just hold the rider on the seat more firmly.
