Default Biketronics 801M load equalizer

Folks - I have a 2013 FLTRU - I ordered the 801M from Biketronics, its the one with connectors that look like this: http://www.biketronics.com/product_i...ges/9_zoom.jpg

Supposed to be for '10-up touring.

Anyone else have it? I feel like an idiot, but I'm dont know where it connects.

Biketronics is puzzled because I have the HD Run/Turn/Brake module, and they are surprised that it has the 8-pin rectangular connectors, and in theory the BT load equalizer should plug in there.

They are sending me the version of the 801 that has connectors that look like this: http://www.biketronics.com/product_i...ges/7_zoom.jpg

Which looks like the connectors for my R/T/B module.

If anyone has a 2010-up Touring bike with a Biketronics load Equalizer *and* the HD R/T/B module, I'd be interested to hear what your setup looks like...

Thanks

I went with all Custom Dynamics on my 2012 Limited. Says right on their web site for the HD stuff (for 1999 to present) that it is 8 pin connectors. Everything I got from them worked great the first time!

On the Custom Dynamics web site it says the 6 Pin Street Magic Signal Stabilizer only Fits Harley Davidson 2010-13 Street Glide/Road Glide Custom
(Does not Fit CVO Models)

The 8 pin connectors are Plug and Play on '96-'10 Softails, '97-'11 Dynas, '97-'13 Touring (except Street Glide & Road Glide Custom), and '99-'03 Sportsters, '10-'13 HD Trikes; '11-'13 Road Glide Ultra

Hope that helps!!

Great, thanks, Biketronics is sending me the 8-pin one, so I'm guessing I'll be fine. The guy at BT was very puzzled at the notion that the 2013 touring bikes still use the 8-pin connectors under the seat.

The BT801M is meant for Street Glides and Road Glide Customs only. They use a different connector. For your FLTRU you need the regular BT801 which has the rectangular white plug. If you take your seat off and look at the rear fender there is a plug on the right side. That is your turn signal harness. Refer to your other thread that I made several replies to for how to run them in sequence.

Thanks, I get it now, sometimes it takes some time to sink in.

I dont think the Biketronics folks are aware of the touring differences (at least not the guy I spoke with), I'm going to send them a note to help clear things up.

I'm just surprised more of their customers havent gotten tripped up with the wrong unit.

Oh trust me they know. These guys are experts and know every in an out of the electrical workings of our bikes. I think you just got them a little confused by initially telling them you wanted a BT801M but that you had the white rectangular connections.

Well, I think he assumed, like I did that all 10-later touring needs the 801m, but you can see why I'm easily confused (see below), the 801M says, as you state, for 10-up FLTRX and FLHX which is very specific, I just figured that all 10-up touring is the same. There's another part (801) thats for 01-up "Soft/FL/Dyna 01 and newer" which I assumed wasnt for my bike, but of course the "FL" part says it all. <sigh>

No I think he assumed that because you ordered a BT801M that you had a Street Glide or Road Glide Custom. But said you had the white rectangular plug. That is what threw them off. Again I have talked to John and the other guys at Biketronics many times. They know exactly what they are talking about.

I'm sure they're fine, thanks for your help. I did say specifically on the phone with someone who was trying to help me out, more than once that I had a 2013 FLTRU, but no worries, I'm straightened out now. (the dog pic was a reference to *me* not them)
