21" wheel and front end question?

Let me expound on 17 and 18 rear wheels. You can mount a 200 on an 18x5.5 rim but we here at HogPro will not as we had a few customers who experienced a high speed wobble with this setup so we only recommend a 180 on the 18x5.5. On a 17x6 or 17x6.25 we like the Metzeler ME880 200/50/17 which also keeps the bike (depending on model) at the same height as stock in the rear. An 18x5.5 will sit about 3/4" higher in the rear and the 21" will sit about 1 1/4" higher. Thus when mounting a 21" front and 18 rear many people lower the front 1" to compensate for the additional height of teh front wheel. IS ti necessary? No. You make the call.

I have 23/17 combo with the 200 tire. The bottom of my rear fender right below the 3 horizontal tail light sits about 5" lower than a stock street glide. Could be due to the larger front wheel and no lowering in the front. Either with a 21 or 23 front rim, it will still sit lower with that 200/50/17 tire.
