Ive been a HDF member for just a few days and have learned so much. I think I'll just forget about the intercom set up and deal with the yelling over my shoulder. Im used to that - On and off of the bike!
Good responses! Thanks. Of note: Both have 7 pin plugs and hook into the bike receptacles. We used them for awhile but slowly got frustrated with the poor quality music and intercom. I started looking at my paperwork and saw that I had two different models which prompted the call for help. A new 77147-98a will cost me $200 bucks. I'm thinking about purchasing a set of J&M's.
J&M is the only ones I use. I started using J&M equipment back before Harley had Factory Radios and headsets. Continued with J&M when I bought my 1989 Ultra. I tried using Harley headsets when I Upgraded to my 1998 Ultra. The Harley headsets were not as good. I went back to J&M. They have several advantages. The cord that has a disconnect between the headset and cord is just one. Another is that with the lower cord, the headset can be used on many different year models.
