Default Headset compatability

Newbie here! Thought I'de join since I spend a lot of time reading topics in HDF. My question refers to HD headsets. I have one model 77147-91C and a model 77147-98a. Are they compatable to use on 2012 UC? I deal with a terrible amount of wind noise which makes it difficult to talk to the Mrs. Thanks

I believe both models have the 7 pin din connectors so they both should work together.

No, they are not compatible. Even though the plugs will both "Plug In" the headsets used from 1989-1997 (77147-91C) use only 5 pin for the headset.
The Headsets used 1998/later (77147-98C) are the same through the current models.

Good responses! Thanks. Of note: Both have 7 pin plugs and hook into the bike receptacles. We used them for awhile but slowly got frustrated with the poor quality music and intercom. I started looking at my paperwork and saw that I had two differnent models which prompted the call for help. A new 77147-98a will cost me $200 bucks. Im thinking about purchasing a set of J&M's.

One option would be use the correct one for you in the front and put a set of helmet speakers

http://www.aerostich.com/electronics...-speakers.html

in her helmet and use a intercom adapter such as

http://www.aerostich.com/intercom-system-adapter.html

That way you could talk to her but she couldn't talk to you. Best of all worlds. If she needed to say something, she could just yell at you, something most women are good at anyway.
