I recently had a big bore kit installed, saw some of what I thought was a oil leak coming from the base of the rocker boxes. Engine guy says it is the lube he used to torque the head bolts. Not had a lot of time to ride since the build. Put on around 80 miles. Cleaned it up a couple of times and still seeping a little. For you pros, is this normal? Should I give it a few more miles, or take it back to get it checked.
If it's seeping after you wiped it then it is still leaking....take it back and get it fixed.
what little lube it takes to lube the theards of the head bolts should NOT be leaking out
Well, not only are the threads lubed, but also the flanges of the head bolts.
Sometimes, I have seen that get a bit messy... and yes, me too. LOL
I'd agree with Stupid_Rope (I feel funny saying that!)... give it a little time and monitor it.
If it doesn't clear up, go see your Indy.
Or, there could be something totally catostrophic going on!!!
