Default Is there life after Andrews?

I have a tendency to go my own way. When I did my research into the fitment of the Crane 6000 cam on my '07 Ultra I met up with nemerous people that told me I would be sorry that Crane cams are noisey, unproven and if they were good everyone would be using them. Well I wish I had more time to ride my bike before winter finally arrived here in so. central PA but after the first 50 mile ride I can tell you all that if a cam change could do more to totally change a bike for the good you could not prove it to me. This 07 Ultra is the first Harley I have had 25 years, yes I rode Harleys before they were popular. Those first rubber mounted shovelhead motors were pretty good-the '81 I had I put 34K on before selling it before a major move. The one thing that shovelhead had that this Ultra did not was it made most of its power down low and was very relaxed in delivery. This 07 only came on its own at about 80 mph--thats where it got its legs under it. The Crane cam gives my bike its legs-strong smooth power everywhere. Its going to be a real good spring, I can tell.
Other mods include V&H True Dual Headpipes (mostly because I hated the thought of putting that dreadfull stock system back on after the cam), Supertrapp slashcut megaphone slip-ons twelve disks a side at present, Techlusion TFI fuel controller, SE A/C wih Zippers deep element andBaisley spring installed along with cam.

No numbers yet. Winter arrived with vengence a day after the initial 36 degree maiden voyage. Waiting for a good 40 degree day to get back out--chompin' at the bit!

I think just about all major cam makers make a couple of good cams.

Comp cams V thunder cams are great, but un popular.

Kuryakyn "wild things" great but overpiced!

I just picked up some Head-Quarters cams,...pricey..but ive been told there Da Bomb! they oringally were desinged with help from Crane.

S&S, Andrews are the "cookie cutter" cams that genrally offer great results for the vast majority for HD riders! most of there grinds are single patter, single lift cams, that work in most all situations.

the more expensive "split lift" and "split duration" cams are more tailored for specific poweroutput applications andwork best with anengine desingers porting and compression, and displacment. combonations.

Its all about gettin you hard earned $$$$$
