Really? You guys think the stock FM map is as good as it gets, autotune is better than a dyno and/or there is no reason to improve either on a dyno? While I agree there are few good dyno tuners out there, a good one can for sure improve performance, mileage and heat over a canned map or autotune. You guys will spend 1-3K on stage 1 and not get a proper tune? Penny wise - pound foolish.... imho
From my experience, the FM maps are close. That being said, I installed auto tune and it made significant changes to map. The bike ran good before, but now it runs fantastic. With the auto tune permanently installed it will auto adjust for air temp, humidity, bad or good gas, etc to maintain proper a/f ratio. FM's map was good, but I love auto tune
If he is willing to rent you auto tune and tweak the map for your bike, I would say do it. Every bike is different and therefore FM's map will be very close, but not right on for your ride. I highly recommend permanently installing auto tune. It is great and has more features than I can discuss in a short period of time.

Well that's what I was thinking, I didn't know if he was on the up and up with this Auto Tune thing, apparently it can be done.
I'm a bit surprised how many feel I should just leave it alone. I don't race my bike but I do drive a bit aggressive, I do a lot of passing in the 50-70 mph range, if I'm leaving any un used power on the table with this map would be nice to use that power if there is any.
Dynos take 'real world' measurements and provide feedback to any changes made! They also give actual power and torque data, to confirm the benefit of tuning the bike.
Same here, I have become a fan of the dyno all things considered.
I don't believe the Autotune would be better than a proper dyno, but I am sure it would be good.
It's your call.
Roll the dice and take a chance, so what if it does make it worse, just reload the map you are pretty happy with now, on the other hand it might, and more likely will, get better. Won't know til you try. Don't care what name you attach to a canned map, its still a canned map, each bike is different.
