I'm not calling anybody fat or anything. But when my wife and I both ride on my Road King, I get pushed up just a tad beyond my normal riding position.
I have the quick detach backrest, and the wife doesn't feel comfortable without it. I have a Mustang wide touring seat. And I notice that the backrest is right at the back of the seat, and the pad overlaps the back of my seat by at least a couple inches.
Anybody make a pad that can adjust back? Or sits back further?
Look at Harley backrests.
I got the road king smooth style on ebay you can't ajust it on the fly.
but you can ajust it forwards or backwards when you bolt the bracket on .
I have a Mustang seat and a Mustang drivers backrest. It's not a quick release backrest but it does have an adjustment thumbscrew that allows you to move the pad forward or back by turning the screw (no tools necessary).
Damn can't find it. Somewhere in here someone posted a bracket for the passenger backrest that they fab'ed and was selling. It pushed the backrest back about 2 inches. I was looking into this myself. But damn can't find the thread. Anyone else remember this? This would be a good solution for you I think as well. I searched all my posts and can't seem to find it. You are talking about the passenger backrest right?

You can take the bracket off and remount it backwards.
If you don't refab the front strap it will probably put dents
in the rear fender if you lean back hard. I've got a couple
buddies who run this way.
