Default Cloudy Chrome

Any ideas why out of the blue my kuryakyn air cleaner cover would start showing cloudy marks that can't be removed would be be there? Any suggestions on clearing it up will be appreciated. I've tried chrome cleaner, but that doesn't do anything.

Thanks folks,.....

I would have to say it is bad chrome job, have seen this before on some of the kuryakyn parts that I have purchased. I am lucky the place I bought mine from replaced the parts for free and sent the old ones back. You can try chrome polish etc. but if that doesn't work it is the chrome...

Usually Kuryakyn is pretty good chrome. Call them, they'll take care of it. After all you just got it for Christmas!

The football cover on my Police RoadKing gets cloudy looking like that but only where the stupid boots they make us wear rubs the cover.

Mine did the same thing on my dyna. Turns out it was from my knees rubbing on it while riding. Same with my SG tank now.

I think it may be from that. It's right where the inner part of my leg or knee hits while riding. The dang things are not cheap to replace either. especially if it's going to happen again and again.....
