From my experience you'll be hard pressed to find any dealer who does body work and most auto body shops if they're busy won't take on a small job like a bike fender. A new fender from HD would give you the best paint match for the buck.
Looks like I'm going fender shopping.
Figured as much, since the two-tone paint seems hard to match. Plus those jobs, even when using the same paint/techniques, never match up perfectly.
Will keep you posted.
Building a new house. Had to sell the old one. I'll be here for ten/eleven months (or so the contractor says). New house has a garage that'll fit my baby just fine.
New unpainted fender is $299 from the MoCo...I'd ask the dealer/indi shop that will be doing the work what the costs are for each and what other options they might offer rather then going back to stock. Personally, I'd get a new fender and start talking to paint shops about a new paint scheme.
